Join us for a family-friendly event to raise funds for a new park on the west side of Buena Vista!  This park is named to honor Billy Cordova, a man who left an impact with everyone he met.   Billy was a husband, father, and son before anything else – he loved spending time with his family!  Beyond that, he served on many roles as a Battalion Chief with Chaffee County Fire Department, a reserve deputy with Chaffee County Sherriff’s Department, a volunteer enforcement office with the Division of Wildlife, and he was a volunteer with Chaffee County Search & Rescue.  What’s more, Billy loved big equipment and owned Marv’s Construction Company.

We hope that the Billy Cordova Memorial Park not only honors his legacy, but we hope it also honors our First Responders.  The month of May is First Responders Month, and we would love for you to join us as we raise funds to build this neighborhood park!  Our 5K will start and finish at BV Rodeo Grounds, and the course will travel to, and through, the location for the park.  Runners will wind through the Sunset Vista neighborhood, back to the BV Rodeo Grounds for a grand finish!
This run is stroller friendly!  There may be a few bumpy sections on trail, but overall it’s very smooth. Little ones who join along in strollers can just enjoy the ride (no registration necessary for them).  We welcome all runners, walkers, joggers, and everything in between!

Family Fun Run & Walk:
Our families are welcome to run and walk the Family Fun Run & Walk (1.5 miles) which will take place before the 5K.  It will also start and finish at the BV Rodeo Grounds.  We encourage families to join together, bring strollers, wagons, and backpacks to ensure that our young runners make the whole course!
