Colorado showed up at the Foot Locker Midwest Region Championships in Kenosha, Wis.

Four will represent the Centennial State at Foot Locker Nationals in sunny San Diego, Cali.

Riverdale Ridge’s Payton Meineke, Cherry Creek’s Emily Cohen, Mountain Vista’s Benjamin Anderson, and The Classical Academy’s Matthew Edwards extended their season another two weeks!

In the girl’s Championship Race Meineke and Cohen finished sixth, and seventh, with Meineke leading the way, running 17:35. Cohen was one-second back in 17:36.

In the boy’s Championship Race Anderson rallied after last week’s NXR-Southwest performance, finishing seventh in 15:09 to qualify for Footlocker Nationals.

3A State Champion Edwards took the final qualifying spot, finishing 10th in 15:12.

One place and two-seconds back was 5A state champ Brennan Draper, who finished 11th in 15:14.

The quartet of Meineke, Cohen, Anderson, and Edwards flipped the script from last year, when Colorado didn’t qualify anyone for Footlocker Nationals.
