The Rock ‘n’ Roll® Running Series returned to the Vegas Strip for the first time in over two years as participants got back into the groove for the “World’s Largest Running Party” at the 12th edition of Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Las Vegas. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Series Las Vegas half marathon and 10K races once again took over the famed Las Vegas Boulevard on Sunday night while passing iconic sights including the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign, The Fountains of Bellagio and Downtown Las Vegas, with an electric finish line unlike any other in the world ending mid-Strip at the Volcano at The Mirage Hotel & Casino. Over 35,000 registered participants from around the world took to the #Stripatnight making the iconic nighttime race an unforgettable experience, complete with music, lights and entertainment stationed along the course. |

The event also showcased the first competition of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Elite™ half marathon series that offered a $15,000 elite prize purse and Elite Beat Rankings (EBR) points as Justin Kent of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada and Ellie Stevens (GBR), who resides in Las Vegas, Nev., USA, earned the overall wins and 50 EBR points with finishing times of 1:04:38 and 1:17:53, respectively. John Börjesson (Boulder, Colo., USA) finished second for the men’s division with a time of 1:06:24, collecting 44 EBR points while Andy Wacker (Boulder, Colo., USA) followed in third place finishing at 1:06:45 and scoring 39 points. Danae Dracht (Santa Monica, Calif. USA) followed Stevens in second for the women’s division with a finishing time of 1:18:24, earning 44 points, while Kirsten Lee (North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) rounded out the podium with a time of 1:18:40, earning 39 points. The new Rock ‘n’ Roll Elite half marathon competition will continue across eight cities in North America, culminating with a grand finale at the 2023 edition of Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas. The weekend of racing first kicked off with a Health and Fitness Expo on Thursday, and continued Saturday night with the new downtown 5K that took place under the neon lights of Fremont East Entertainment District and the Fremont Experience. The 5K race culminated with the “Encore Entertainment” concert and festival at Downtown Las Vegas Event Center for participants of all distances, featuring the Symphonic Rockshow. The Symphonic Rockshow combines a classical symphony orchestra with a rock band to breathe new life into time-tested classic rock anthems. The Encore Entertainment featured interactive experiences, photo opportunities, local artists, food trucks, cocktails, and more to create a memorable and immersive night for participants. |
