The 2021 Vail Recreation District trail running season continues on Saturday, Aug. 21 with the Dynafit Arrowhead Half Marathon & 5K presented by Howard Head Sports Medicine. We are very excited to introduce Arrowhead as a NEW venue in the 2021 Dynafit Vail Trail Running Series!
Beginning and finishing at the base of Arrowhead, this breathtaking (literally and figuratively) half marathon course climbs over 3,000 feet while showcasing the stunningly beautiful network of trails on Arrowhead and Beaver Creek Mountain. Parking is available for runners and spectators at Red Canyon High School and Berry Creek Middle School on Miller Ranch Road in Edwards. Shuttles will run continuously from the parking lots to the base of Arrowhead and back.
Participants are encouraged to stick around following the race for the on-site awards ceremony with recognition of top participants in each age division. We’ll have a free keg from New Belgium Brewing for those of age, and don’t miss out on the Uncle Sleepers food truck, which will be set up at the race finish with delicious food for purchase. As always, participants can pick up their custom race t-shirt and a delicious Northside Kitchen donut! Every runner is entered to win great raffle prizes from our sponsors; the drawing takes place following awards.
Individual race cost for the half marathon is $48 pre-registered, $53 week-of and $65 day-of. 5K rates are $28 pre-registered, $33 week-of and $40 day-of.
