Just under 150 people toed the line for the annual Dynafit Berry Picker Trail Race in Vail this last weekend. Testing runners of all abilities on both single-track and double-track terrain, the race covered 4.5 miles of uphill running with an average grade of 14 percent. The race ended at Mid-Vail at the top of Gondola One where participants could download back to the expo area.
Boulder’s Andy Wacker led the charge, covering the race course in 41:41, a full two minutes ahead of the next competitor. Janelle Lincks, also of Boulder was the top female runner exactly five minutes behind Wacker in 46:41. Multiple time mountain running champion Kim Dobson of nearby Eagle was just a few seconds back in 46:44.
