The 2018 La Sportiva Vail Trail Running Series kicked off this past Saturday with the Boneyard Boogie presented by The Dusty Boot. The beautiful point-to-point course started at the Boneyard Trailhead and took runners on switchback single track trails through wooded BLM area and rolling sagebrush fields. After several short, bursting climbs, the single track trail descends to the Eagle Pool and Ice Arena for a fast downhill run to the finish.

In addition to receiving a The North Face race shirt and swag bag, participants were treated to an after-party stocked with a free salad and pasta lunch, raffle, and awards ceremony at the Dusty Boot in Eagle Ranch. The top three men and women finishers in each age group received prizes and awards.

The men’s 7 mile race was close, with 28-year old Tyler Curtis taking top honors in 43:24, followed by 45-year old Chris Grauch in 43:55. Rounding out the podium was 34-year old Corey Dobson in 47:51.
