On a perfect morning for racing, 400 runners and walkers took to Cherry Creek State Park for the Three Creeks Half Marathon. Due to a late season snow storm, the course had to be modified because of muddy trails. However, that didn’t slow the athletes at all.

Leading the charge was 33-year-old Gebrekidan Abadi of Aurora who crossed the finish line in a blistering 1:08:39 (5:14/mile pace). He was followed by 41-year-old Geofrey Terer of Colorado Springs in 1:11:37 and 26-year old Michael Jordan of Colorado Springs in 1:12:17.

On the ladies side, 31-year-old Monica Folts of Denver finished on top in 1:26:37. She was followed by 36-year-old Christine Hammond of Boulder (1:28:36) and 23-year-old Samantha Calderon of Broomfield (1:30:32).

The top three men and women took home prize money in the amounts of $250, $150 and $100.
