Frank Shorter provides an expert’s take on the upcoming men’s Olympic Trials

BOULDER, Colorado — Fleet Feet Sports invites the public to a free presentation at its store by Frank Shorter on Wednesday, October 24th at 7:00 pm. Shorter’s talk will discuss the upcoming men’s Olympic Marathon Trials being held on Saturday, November 3rd in New York’s Central Park, the day before the New York City Marathon.

Shorter, the only American runner to win back-to-back trials races in 1972 and 1976, will speak about his trials experience and how he expects the men’s race on November 3rd to play out.

As a member of the U.S. Olympic marathon team, Shorter won the gold medal at the 1972 Olympic Games and returned to the 1976 Olympics to win the silver medal. He is a five-time national 10,000 meter champion and a four-time national cross-country champion. Also a strong international competitor, Shorter won the Fukuoka International Marathon for four consecutive years, was the World Masters Biathlon Champion in 1989, and a gold medalist at the 1971 Pan American Games.

Shorter has extensive sports broadcasting experience, having commentated for NBCTV during the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games, for the Boston Marathon and for CBS affiliate KCNC-TV’s coverage of the Bolder Boulder 10K race. Shorter also does independent contract work for ESPN, TBS, Fox Sports Net and Golden Gate Productions. Shorter’s accomplishments have earned him many endorsements, including Hilton Hotels, United Airlines, Canon Camera, Sanyo Video, MasterCard International, and New Balance Athletic Shoes.
