With temperatures in the middle teens and snow covering the Washington Park course, only 450 of the 1,600 registered runners and walkers showed up for the annual Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis 5K. Ofer Barniv of Golden led from the gun and won by nearly 90 seconds in 17:33. When asked how the course conditions were, he replied: “I only slipped a few times, so it wasn’t really that bad.”
