His last name may be Olds, but there is nothing old about him! Benjamin Olds of Palmer Ridge High School made the journey down to Arizona to race at the Chandler Rotary Invitational, running in the elite section of the 3200m. Though he is only a 9th grader, Olds placed 13th overall in a section which was filled with much more seasoned runners than him, but he was still able to come away with a fantastic time and placement!
Not only did he run a new personal best of 9:16, but his time puts him at #5 in all of Colorado and the fastest freshman in the whole nation over that race distance! That is some impressive stats, considering he is so young and yet he is making his name known to the whole country.
