Aravaipa Running has acquired the Endurance Race Series Colorado events. The races have been under the leadership of Endurance Race Series Founder Jeff Stoner for over a decade. Stoner has decided to step back from the Colorado race scene. In taking up the reins, Aravaipa Running—led by founder Jamil Coury—will assume responsibility for five distinct races, including the Mountain Ridge Trail Race, Barr Lake, Westminster Trail Race, Snow Mountain Ranch Trail Festival, and Louisville Trail Race, range from 5Ks to 50Ks and offer challenges for both seasoned ultra runners and newcomers alike.
Reflecting on this transition, Stoner shared his gratitude and admiration for the Colorado trail running community:
“After 12 incredible years, it is with mixed emotions that I announce the Endurance Race Series will be stepping away from Colorado. The Colorado trail running community has been the heart of this journey—a steadfast source of inspiration, support, and friendship. From the very beginning, the community welcomed me with open arms. To every runner, volunteer, and supporter—thank you from the bottom of my heart. This community will always feel like home to me.”
Stoner also expressed confidence in Aravaipa’s ability to continue the legacy:
“As I focus on growing the Endurance Race Series in San Diego, I’m thrilled that Jamil Coury and the Aravaipa team will carry forward our Colorado events. Their dedication to creating meaningful trail experiences ensures that Colorado runners will continue to have premier races to enjoy. I look forward to supporting this transition in 2025, helping ensure a smooth handover.”
Jeff Stoner will continue to direct and operate the Endurance Race Series in the San Diego area. You can find out more about those events on the Endurance Race Series Website.
