On a cloudy and cool morning, the Rocky Mountain Road Runners produced the first annual Blue Heron Half Marathon and 5K. Utilizing the Platte River Trail from Riverdale Regional Park in Brighton, 100 runners and walkers were treated to a flat, fast and scenic course.
Taking top honors in the half marathon were Jake Atherton (1:21:26) and Alexa Peterson (1:46:38). In the 5K, Marie Morrier (20:33) and Arturo Herrera (21:47) took the female and male victories.
