The ridiculously patriotic run provides an opportunity to showcase national pride and raise funds for veterans and veteran organizations

Colorado Veterans Project (CVP), one of the largest veteran-related nonprofits in Colorado, has announced its fifth annual Freedom 4 Miler, presented by Charles Schwab, will be held at the Charles Schwab Campus, located at 9800 Schwab Way, Lone Tree, CO 80124, beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 25.

“We appreciate Charles Schwab for presenting this year’s Freedom 4 Miler and we’re excited to be hosting in-person again, giving us a chance to celebrate our national pride and check out the outrageous outfits that our participants put together,” said Greg Moore, board president of CVP. “We introduced a virtual race option last year and due to popular demand, we’ve decided to bring that back again so that people from all over the world can join us in this patriotic fundraising event.”

The Freedom 4 Miler offers a ridiculously patriotic 1-mile “fun run” and 4-mile race that provides an opportunity for civilians, veterans, and uniformed military to showcase patriotism and raise funds for veteran organizations across the state. Presented by Charles Schwab, a corporation that provides brokerage, banking and financial advisory services, the event also incorporates a patriotic costume contest and a post-event festival with local vendors and veteran organizations. All proceeds from the Freedom 4 Miler will go directly to helping veterans and veteran organizations in Colorado.

“Colorado Veterans Project’s mission to enhance pride and patriotism in all Coloradoans is a passion that we share at Charles Schwab,” said Demetra Sullivan, Managing Director at Charles Schwab. “We’re thrilled to present the fifth annual Freedom 4 Miler to help Colorado Veterans Project bring the community together to raise funds for local veterans and veteran-related organizations.”

Registration for the Freedom 4 Miler is open now and participants can register for the 1-mile “fun run” for $30 or the 4-mile run for $40. Everyone who completes the run will receive a T-shirt, finisher’s medal and a custom race bib. Virtual participants can register for the 1-mile “fun run” for $35 or the 4-mile run for $45, which can be completed between Wednesday, June 1 and Monday, July 4, with routes and time details recorded through RunSignUp.com. Awards will be given to top finishers, who will be announced following the close of the virtual run.

CVP encourages participants to showcase their patriotic run attire in a costume contest to win a special prize. Costume contest entries can be completed by posting run photos online, using the hashtag #Freedom4Miler and tagging @ColoradoVeteransProject on Facebook; @colorado_veterans_project on Instagram; or @COVetsProject on Twitter; or by emailing photos to info @ coloradoveteransproject.org.
