Colorado Springs Marathon Held Saturday with 1,000 runners

The 7th annual Colorado Springs Marathon presented by Centura Health welcomed more than 1,000 runners to downtown on Saturday, October 2nd.  Seasoned runners and those tackling their first 5k took part in the event with four events to choose from.  The race took off from the Pioneer Museum and held a start and finish on the downtown city streets. The post-race after-party featured a beer garden, food, medals, music, and a bouncy house for the kids.

Jerry White of Arkansas crossed the finish line first in the marathon in 3:01:59 on the USATF certified course. Colorado Springs local Brianna Williams won the women’s event in 3:48:42.

Cosmo Cao of the US Air Force Academy won the half marathon in 1:18:43. Jemu Zarzar-Guddah of Colorado Springs was first female in 1:34:52. The half marathon was the largest event distance of the day with 582 finishers.
