Former Buena Vista High School track standout Mason Finley took top honors in the men’s discus at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Friday, earning him a spot in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

On his fifth of six throws, Finley delivered a throw of 63.07 (206′ 11″) meters, which was just enough to edge out Reggie Jagers and Sam Mattis.

This makes the second time Finley has made the U.S. Olympic team. He also qualified for the 2016 team and made the finals of the Rio Olympics, where he finished 11th overall. He is also the 2017 World Championship bronze medalist.
