The Colorado Department of Public Health just released new guidance for outdoor activities, which now allows endurance sports, such as running races, cycling events, and triathlons.
The new guidance reads, “Competitive events such as races and endurance events are allowed as long as social distancing and limitations on group size can be maintained. This includes implementing staggered start times and making efforts to prevent gatherings at starts and finishes, so that no more than 10 people are gathered at a time.”
Previously, most races were held with one large mass start. Under the new guidance, race directors can implement staggered start times with small waves of 10 or fewer people starting at one time.
