Sturner, Rogers Win Quicker Quaker

The 19th Annual Lafayette Quaker Oatmeal Festival kicked off Saturday morning, featuring an oatmeal breakfast, 5K race and health fair sponsored by Boulder Community Hospital/Community Medical Center.  The race course was short, not reaching the 5K distance, but rather a 4.275K distance.  As such, the results listed below are based on the 4.275K finish times.

In the men’s race, 24-year old Andrew Sturner took the win in 13:42, with second place finisher Jacob Phillips not far behind, crossing the line in 13:54.  Rounding out the top three was 49-year old Bob Weiner in 14:18.

The women’s race saw 25-year Alexa Rogers take top honors in 15:07, with Rachel Gioscia-Ryan finishing second in 15:23.  There was a tie for third place, with Emma Keenan and Heather Utrata crossing the line in 15:27.
