Chilly temperatures greeted participants of the 36th Annual Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon on Saturday morning at Georgetown Lake. Over 2,000 participants made their way down the Clear Creek Valley and into Idaho Springs for the post-race festivities under sunny skies and warmer temperatures.
In the men’s race, 28-year old Ryan Hafer of Colorado Springs took top honors in 1:11:08. 49-year old Bob Weiner finished second in 1:12:36, and 24-year old Joey Negreann of Englewood rounded out the top three in 1:13:34.
The women’s race saw 23-year old Tara Richardson of Wiggins, CO grab the win in 1:19:48. Second place belonged to Vail’s Rachel Viele in 1:24:04, with Megan Greene of Morrison finishing out the podium in 1:26:20.
