Love was in the air Sunday morning at Wash Park as hundreds of participants came out in the gloomy and cold weather to take part in the Valentine’s Day 5K.  The race was the fourth installment of BKB Limited’s RUNDENVER Race Series, and proved to be a hit, regardless of the weather, as runners and walkers alike took to the classic Wash Park route, and then celebrated at the post-race festivities that included awards, food and warm beverages for all.

In the men’s race, Colorado Springs‘ Adam Rich looked like he was out for an easy morning jog as he took top honors in a time of 16:27.  After crossing the line, Rich turned around and ran his teammate, Andy Rinne, into a second place finish in 17:45.  Third place belonged to Brian Glotzbach of Castle Rock who crossed the line in 18:23.

The women’s race was close, with Broomfield‘s Kara Ford grabbing the win in 18:42.  32-year old Kelsey Martin finished second in 18:54, and 39-year old Sara Gigliotti  of Colorado Springs Rounded out the top three in 19:35.

The final race in the RUNDENVER series will kick off on March 2nd at the Cherry Creek Dam with That Dam Run Half Marathon and 5K.  Visit http://www.bkbltd.com/RUNDENVER.htm for more information.
