The 2005 BolderBOULDER International Team Challenge is set. So far, 18 teams have signed up for the 8th International Team Challenge at the 27th BolderBOULDER on Memorial Day, May 30th.
On the men’s side, eleven teams include: USA, Ethiopia (ETH), Kenya (KEN), Mexico (MEX), Korea (KOR), Russia (RUS), Great Britain (GBR), Australia (AUS), Ecuador (ECU), Colombia (COL) and Team Colorado.
On the women’s side, seven teams include: USA, Kenya (KEN), Mexico (MEX), Korea (KOR), Japan (JPN), Romania (ROM), and Team Colorado.

BolderBOULDER Team Challenge Fun Facts
Currently, 27 athletes (14 men, 13 women) that have competed in past BolderBOULDER’s hold national 10K records.
In 2004, Team USA won their 1st title on the men’s side- bettering the Kenyan men for the very 1st time when fielding a complete team.
In terms of competitive strength, the 2004 men’s Pro- Race was ranked 21st worldwide (this includes the Olympics and all races 5k to marathon)
The Pro-Race field includes 3 Olympic champions as well as 3 national record holders for their respective countries.
Silvio Guerra (Ecuador) is a runner-up finisher not once, but twice at the prestigious Boston Marathon.
Boulder resident and 2005 USA team member, Pete Julian is both a cancer survivor and top ten finisher at the USA Men’s 8k Championship.
Boulder resident and U.S. team member Colleen De Reuck captured the US 25k title with a time ranking her 3rd in the world for 2005, and a top 15 performance all time. In addition, De Reuck’s time on the USA record books leaves her trailing only Joan Benoit Samuelson‘s American Record of 1:24:43.
Gilbert Okari (Kenya) won Bay to Breakers last year.
Team Colorado will have 3 men and 3 women from our state competing.
