Racing Underground has been producing and timing running races and multisport events since 1995. Our timing system has developed over the years from recording finish times and splits with hand-held stopwatches and clipboards, to manual computerized timing utilizing the “Time Machine”, to our new state of the art AMB ChipX timing system.

Our multiple systems allow us to have back-up timing in place at all of our events!

They also allow race organizers to choose the option that best suits their event, and their budget. We continue to offer economical traditional computerized timing for smaller events in addition to our chip timing, which can provide split times, lap times, and start/finish times for events of all sizes.

The AMB system is one of the best automated timing systems on the market today. AMB systems have timed all stages of the Tour de France, have been used at the Olympic Games since 1996, including the 2004 Olympic Marathon and Triathlon, and at the UCI World Cycling Championships since 1993.

For smaller events and races on a budget, our traditional system uses the Time Machine, a specialized race-specific timing computer which communicates directly with our scoring computers to provide quick and accurate results.

Our “Race in a Box” concept allows us to provide your event with bike racks, swim buoys, music, PA, cones, signs, aid stations, fencing, and pound-in fence posts – basically everything you need to host a triathlon except for the participants! Our trailer is packed and ready to roll!

Our standard pricing includes timing, registration including setting up your online registration, database management, race-day packet pick-up, on-time results, and a complete finish line set-up for your event. Finish Line, Large Display Time Clock, Professional Sound System with Music and PA, as well as a dedicated computer for your announcer that is automatically* updated with personal information about that finisher, are included in your price.

Your event will also be listed on our event calendar, along with a link to your website. If you do not already have a website for your race, we can help you with that, too!

Our timing staff is professional, friendly, and very easy to work with. Most have been with us for 6 years or more. Our pricing also includes all key timing personnel linked via 2-way radios throughout the event. You will need to provide some additional volunteers (quantity will vary based on the needs of your event).

We pride ourselves on on-time posting of race results. Current results are posted throughout the event, and updated regularly.

We will generate your awards list prior to your scheduled award ceremony, and can typically provide you with an earlier copy of the awards list on demand.

Final results are always posted to our website on the day of the event.

Following the race, you will receive a CD with results in an overall format, overall by gender (great for newspapers), and results broken down by age groups. Additional results formats can be generated upon request.

If your race is a multisport event that is USAT sanctioned, results will be forwarded to USAT 1 week after the event. Yes, we can send them immediately, however we like to provide a 1-week window to allow for participant requests that a correction be made.

We can also refer you to our partners who can assist you with procuring event insurance, printing and distributing entry forms, designing and printing event T-Shirts and swag, advertising your event, port-o-potty rental, etc.
